The DART Silver Line in Cypress Waters Station is nearing completion, with passenger service anticipated to begin between late 2025 and early 2026. Currently 85% complete, the 26-mile regional rail project will connect East Plano to DFW Airport’s Terminal B, enhancing regional mobility. The line spans seven cities—Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Dallas, Grapevine, Plano, and Richardson—across three counties, adding 10 new transit stations to the existing DART network. Once in service, the Silver Line will operate under a quiet zone ordinance, with train horns sounding only when necessary. However, during testing, trains will use horns at all rail crossings for safety. 23 MILES OF HIKE & BIKE TRAILS Hyperbolic Drive Connection Public Works staff collaborated with the City of Dallas to explore a connection, supporting future development in the Sanders Loop area. Workforce Transit with Lyft Community Development staff partnered with Lyft and Dallas Area Rapid Transit, facilitating 2,420 rides for employees commuting within Coppell city limits. Royal Lane Reconstruction The Royal Lane reconstruction project will rebuild the roadway from Sandy Lake Road to I-635. The project is set for bidding in 2025, with completion anticipated in 2027. South Belt Line Road Reopened After two years of construction, the roadway officially reopened last April with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. SPAN, Inc. Transit Services In 2024, SPAN, Inc. provided 1,900 rides to 21 residents through an annual agreement that grants access to employment, medical appointments, and social and recreational opportunities. These transit services are available to older adults (60 and older), residents with disabilities, and veterans, ensuring mobility and accessibility for those in need.
