Howdy everyone, welcome to Coppell. We’re glad you’re here! Coppell is one of those special places that has it all — a thriving business district, a top tier school district, acres of green space, and one-of-a-kind public amenities — wrapped up in a close-knit, small-town package. It’s a great place to raise a family — nationally recognized, in fact — get to know your neighbors, put down roots, and enjoy a comfortable life in a safe, yet exciting community. Everything we do is for the benefit of our residents. From budgeting and infrastructure to special events and community programs, we’re constantly evolving our offerings to help our residents stay active and engaged. We’ve brought in businesses, from large corporate headquarters to small, family-owned restaurants and boutiques, keeping the local economy buzzing and modern conveniences close by. In fact, you can see a show at Dallas-Ft. Worth’s Best Live Theatre Venue right here in Coppell! The Coppell Arts Center claimed the Dallas Morning News’ People’s Choice award right after its incredible inaugural season. As you’re exploring all the city has to offer, enjoy a peaceful commute on clean, smooth streets thanks to a carefully planned construction schedule that keeps our roadways in tip top condition. If you’d rather stay closer to home, we’ve got you covered with a number of programs that connect neighbors through service, like our Neighbors Helping Neighbors event, and fun, like our Block’n Roll Party Trailer, which brings everything you need for a memorable block party right to your doorstep. While we’re always striving to improve service to our residents in the present, we’re also looking toward the future and encouraging our residents to get involved in the planning process. Our Vision 2040 plan, which provides a clear roadmap of community priorities to help shape the future of Coppell, was envisioned by our residents, for our residents. Every day, we’re taking steps to bring the goals in the Vision 2040 plan to life, including establishing the Future-Oriented Approach to Residential Development Task Force, which addresses changing demographics and subsequent housing solutions. We’re also exploring the avenues to becoming a more sustainable and self-reliant community through our Smart City Board. The voices of our Coppell residents are behind every single Vision 2040 goal, and together we’re making them a reality. As our Police Chief Danny Barton says: “You’re living in the right place.” We hope you’ll immerse yourself in this vibrant community — explore the unique character of Old Town Coppell, learn something new through one of Coppell Community Experiences’ many classes, and attend a public meeting or join a city board or commission — because Coppell owes its success to our very active citizens. As always, please let us know how we may improve our service to you! Welcome home! Wes Mays, Mayor Letter from the Mayor 4 | City of Coppell
