WHO WE ARE Coppell Community Experiences manages and maintains 545 acres of park land, nature preserves, cemetery, and all city grounds. Facilities include The CORE, Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball Center, the Coppell Senior & Community Center at Grapevine Springs, the Biodiversity Education Center, Rolling Oaks Memorial Cemetery, Cozby Library and Community Commons, and Coppell Arts Center. Community Experiences has grown from a small department (originally called Parks and Recreation!) with a few parks and trails, to one that offers a recreation and aquatics center, tennis and pickleball center, senior and community center, biodiversity education center, dog park, playgrounds, ball fi elds, community gardens, a farmers market, special events, camps, classes, programs, and sports leagues. In 2009, we added Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, our municipal cemetery. In 2020, the Coppell Arts Center opened its doors as a part of our team. In 2022, Parks and Recreation and the Cozby Library and Community Commons integrated as one team. The library, along with all the facilities and services of parks and recreation contribute to a high level of quality of life to the community. The integration proved a great way to share resources, support, and collaborate on educating and serving the Coppell community in an intentional way. In January 2023, Coppell Parks & Recreation became Coppell Community Experiences. The change was many years in the making and refl ected our desire to reimagine the way we serve the Coppell community - to continue to meet both current needs and demands of the future.
